Lillypad Terms of Use

Lillypad (lillypad.app) is operated by JARC Inc., an Ohio corporation (“we,” “us”). By using Lillypad, you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them in plain language on purpose.

1. What Lillypad is — and what it isn’t

Lillypad provides a framework and general recommendations for maintaining your home: a personalized seasonal maintenance schedule, reminders, and a private place to record the work you do.

We are not licensed contractors, inspectors, engineers, or tradespeople, and we do not provide professional advice. Our guidance reflects generally accepted best practices for home maintenance, personalized by your home’s age, type, and climate — it is a starting point, not an inspection, and it cannot account for the specific condition of your individual home. For any question specific to your home or your situation — and for any work involving electrical systems, gas, structural elements, roofing, or anything else where a mistake carries real risk — consult a licensed professional. You are responsible for decisions about your home, including whether a task is safe for you to perform yourself.

2. Your account

You need to be at least 18 to use Lillypad. Keep your login method secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account. People you invite to your household see your household’s home data — invite people you trust. You may remove members or leave a household at any time from your account page.

3. Your content

Photos, notes, project records, and everything else you add to Lillypad remain yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, display, and process that content to run the service for you and your household — nothing more. Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to upload.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

• The paid plan is $59 per year, billed annually. There is no trial on upgrade; the free tier is how you evaluate Lillypad, and charging begins when you upgrade.
• Your subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel. You can turn off auto-renewal or cancel at any time from your account page — self-service, no phone call, no support ticket.
• 30-day refund, no questions asked: if you’re unhappy within 30 days of your first charge, email us and we’ll refund it in full.
• After 30 days, we don’t prorate refunds for early cancellation. If you cancel, your paid features continue through the end of the period you paid for, then your account moves to the free tier with your data intact.
• If a payment fails, we’ll retry and email you to update your card before anything lapses.
• We may refund at our discretion in cases of genuine product malfunction or billing error.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use Lillypad to break the law, to access another household’s data, to probe or disrupt the service, or to scrape or resell its content. Don’t create accounts for homes as a means of harassing or surveilling anyone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Our content

The task library, guidance text, and other Lillypad content are ours (or licensed to us) and are provided for your personal use in maintaining your home — including printing checklists and schedules for personal use, which we actively encourage. Don’t republish or resell our content.

7. Disclaimers

Lillypad is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the service accurate, available, and secure, but we can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and — per Section 1 — we can’t promise that general guidance fits the specific condition of your home. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JARC Inc.’s total liability arising out of or relating to Lillypad is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including property damage or costs arising from maintenance decisions, work you perform, or work you hire others to perform. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Your data, always

You can export everything you’ve put into Lillypad at any time from your account page, and you can delete your account yourself. If we ever discontinue the service, we commit to advance notice and a full export window for every user before anything is removed.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make a change that matters, we’ll tell you plainly — in the changelog and, for significant changes, by email — before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lillypad after a change takes effect means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
